Sampling Theory in Signal and Image Processing

Special Issue “SAMPTA'09”

SAMPTA'09, the 8th international conference on Sampling Theory and Applications, was held in Marseille, France on May 18-22, 2009. The conference gathered 160 participants from various fields related to sampling theory. This special issue aims at publishing papers related to the topics addressed during the conference. Submissions can be (but are not limited to) extended versions of papers presented during the conference, however any submission is welcome. The submitted papers can be either original research papers or review papers. Short submissions presenting software packages related to some of the topics of the special issue will also be considered.

This special issue is a call to gather a broad range of methods, algorithms and theoretical results in the area of sampling techniques. The retained papers will present new works and review papers. Original contributions are solicited from the following non-exhaustive list of topics:
    General sampling, mathematical aspects of sampling
    Frames, theory and practice
    Sparsity, compressed sensing (theory and applications)
    Wavelets, curvelets, bandlets, ... and generalizations
    Geometric multiscale analysis, approximation in high dimensional geometry
    Sampling using finite rate of innovation principles
    Sampling and communication
    Resampling, rate conversion
    Sampling in industrial applications

Prospective authors should follow the typesetting instructions available at http://stsip.org/ and submit the manuscripts to the guest editors. The manuscripts will undergo a standard peer review process according to the following timetable:
    Call for papers February 1, 2010
    Manuscript submissions due: July 15, 2010 August 15, 2010
    First review completed: November 1, 2010
    Revised manuscripts due: December 15, 2010
    Second review completed: January 15, 2011
    Final manuscript due: February 1, 2011
